Goodbye 2010

Another year behind us...
I'm enjoying this last day of 2010, tidying up my craft room a bit more and stitching some new bunny designs. As always, there are simply not enough hours in a day!
This past year has been a very difficult one, but there are many blessings to be thankful for, and that's how I wish to remember this year. Goodbye 2010!

Castleberry Christmas Show - Hartford CT

This is my last show in a very busy year, and I am looking forward to it.  I have spent the greater part of the last week and a half stitching as fast as I could, to have a decent showing after nearly selling out at the last two shows.  Many more gingers, snowkids, and those little mice!!!

Thank goodness for all the totes of UFOs that hubby persuaded me to hold on to, they saved me for sure!   Anyway I am exhausted, and am done stitching.... I've done all I can possibly do, and that's got to be good enough.

It's been a very heartwarming year and I feel like I have stitched a million stitches!  Thank you all my beautiful customers.... I've enjoyed every moment, laughing and crying with you, and I am humbled by your friendship and support.  It makes what I do so worthwhile!

I hope you can visit the show.
With gratitude... Denise

Deerfield and Castleberry Shows

My remaining shows for this year.... I'm looking forward to them but will also be happy when they are over.  It's been a busy year, and a very fulfilling one, but tiring too.  I finished all I needed to in time for Deerfield.

We will be away for the following weekends. I will be away from the computer for much of the time leading up to and during the shows...

Folk Art Festival of New England

I've not had time to do much of anything online recently.  I have had the computer OFF most days so there is no temptation because I can sit here for hours.  You know how that goes!

With Granville came the realization that Folk Art Festival was only weeks away, yikes!  Where does the time go!   I love autumn and really got carried away with it this year, but not much to show in the way of winter items.
Three big winter shows and very little finished, so-o-o-o-o  I have had to get really really busy stitching and staining and dipping... Thankfully I started many things this past spring...   The very first glimpse of my winter items will be at the Folk Art Festival of New England, in Marlborough MA this weekend.
Be sure to stop in if you're nearby.

I will have prim santas of all sorts, plus my snowfolk, snowman buckets, feedsack angels, and quite a few cardinals.  And lots of one of a kinds...

Promise to post pictures when I return... Have a nice weekend and a happy halloween! ~D

Granville Harvest Fair

What a gorgeous setting for a prim booth.  I am set up at the Old Meeting House and I am loving every minute of it.  This is just a peek at my little home away for three days.  Come out to Granville if you can.... there are crafters set up at several locations, tag sales throughout the town, and you can also purchase just picked apples from the orchards.

Deerfield Christmas Sampler

Once again I am honored to have my work featured in promotional materials for Old Deerfield.  It was heartwarming to be notified that my little spicy belsnickles will be displayed on the postcard for the Deerfield Christmas Sampler!   I better get busy making some more....

I am working on lots of unusual prims for this show and cannot believe how quickly the time passes!

Granville Harvest Fair

I will be in Granville, MA this weekend, setup in the Old Meeting House.  I have attended this festival many times over the years, and have enjoyed it.  I am hoping I will have time to buy some apples for applesauce, a yealy tradition!   This is the first time I will have a booth, and I'mlooking forward to it.  It will be a beautiful autumn weekend, and if you're in the area, you should come for a visit!

Sunday October 10 from noon until 5pm and

PRESS RELEASE

Granville Harvest Fair

Contact: Coralie Stevenson 413-357-8801

Diamond star, Grandmother's Fan, Nine Patch, Log Cabin, Star of Bethlehem, and Hit or Miss; what do these names have in common? If you guessed that they were all names of quilt designs, then you are correct. This year's Harvest Fair harkens back to the Fair's beginning in 1981 as a Quilt Show and Sale. Over 500 quilts were on display that first Columbus Day Weekend and while there won't be that many this Columbus Day there will be many to see at the Old Meeting house.

From Southwick or Springfield, you may park at the Village School and check out the many craft vendors inside; stroll down to the Town Green to taste the great food being sold there; stop at the Library to see the raffles, the Giant book sale and sample the best hot dogs in town; check out the crafters at the Federated Church; or walk down Water Street to the museum at the Old Drum Shop. The museum has expanded its tour into the factory with many new exhibits.

The Lions Club Annual Antique and Special Interest Car Show will be at the corner of Old Westfield Road and Rt 57 on Saturday from 10-4.

When you are on the Town Green, visit the Police Association booth and purchase a raffle ticket for a 2010 Ford Focus. Only 1200 tickets at $20.00 each are being sold! To purchase a ticket before the fair, call the Town Hall at 357-8585, ext. 7.

This fair has not only an abundance of great crafters and tasty food in the Village, but when you take the free Shuttle Bus up the hill to Granville Centre you will find more crafters and delicious food at Granville’s pride and joy, the 1802 Old Meeting House.

For the third year you will be greeted by a display of classic farm tractors on the lawn. These new and vintage vehicles arrive under their own power or on flatbeds. Most of these wonderful tractors are still operating in our fields today.

But as you check out the tractors, eventually your nose will direct you inside the Meeting House to partake of a slice of hot apple pie or mulled cider and homemade soups.

Have a seat and gaze up at the glorious display of magnificent handmade Quilts made by members of the Granville Quilt and Needlework Guild.

If you are coming to the Fair west from the Berkshires, park in the Town Hall/Fire House lot and start your visit across the road at Harvest Hill Farm/Granville Gallery with the wonderful work of local artists and a demonstration of the 1918 one-lung engine pressing apples for cider. Walk down to the Old Meeting House before catching the free Shuttle Bus to take you down the hill to the Village Green and School and more food crafts and goodies Granville has to offer.

We look forward to seeing you at our historic country fair.

Ohhh, this was an awesome show and I am honored to have been a part of it.   I think we all had a great time. I definately came home with more prim goodies than would fit in the car, and would have liked more. But there's always next time!   A little peek at my booth and watch for wonderful pictures of the show on the Walker Homestead website!

Mattoon Festival Primitive Booth Photos

What a busy time of year this is!   I have had to keep myself off the computer this week, except for orders.  Too much to do before Deerfield, this weekend.  Mostly everything is finished, finally, and the van is jampacked.  We're setting up this evening and I am going to relax for most of the day.

Mattoon Street Festival was last weekend, Saturday and Sunday, and we had a great time.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous.  It was a very unique show, I think one of my new favorites.   I look forward to doing it again next year.  As promised I snapped a few photos.  I kept this setup very basic as we had to break down and remove all merchandise Saturday evening.  I think that was my least favorite part!
Check out the brick sidewalk...

Just a little peek!   We setup at 7 pm and it got dark quickly!  Thought I'd share a few photos for now.... isn't it pretty?   We didn't setup any product and will do that in the morning.
Should you come to the fest I am on the Chestnut Street end, three tents in.
Have a great weekend wherever you are ~ D

Mattoon Street Arts Festival

Festival Information

This is not my typical show, and I am quite excited to be a part of it.  I was really taken by the beauty of this quaint little brick lined street in the heart of the city.

I think I am the only one doing anything remotely prim, so we will see how it goes.  Everyone likes Halloween, and that will help sales a lot!

Two of my bff will be there also, Linda of Tweedleberry Tree with her awesome bowls and Barbra of Letter Perfect Names with her wonderful photo word art.

Perfect weather is forecast once again so come visit me if you're in the area.

A nice day for a craft show... some photos

What a gorgeous day for a show!   Thank you Barbra!!!!  for all your work putting this show together.    I appreciate everything you do and this is one of the reasons I come back every year!
Thanks so much to all my awesome customers and friends who stopped by to see me again this year, I really appreciate your friendship and your purchases!

I woke up very late and a bit cross, scrambling to get ready.... And I remembered to bring everything except my bag of stuff to work on.  Thankfully I did not need it.

My husband helped setup before work, thankfully.  I did not have the fortune of his company to break down and the van is a hellish mess!   I am afraid to open the back door!

A little smaller setup than I do for the big shows.... It was very sunny, and hence these are not the best of photos, but a glimpse anyway...  The sun did feel good as it was in the 70s and breezy.

If you see anything you MUST have, email me early this week as I have to repack the remains.  Most will be gone after my upcoming shows.

Came home with a really bad headache.   Hope to rest a bit today before I unload...

Don't forget my little pumpkin man on ebay....  He has more watchers than ever, and hiss auction will be over tomorrow.

Prim Olde Pumpkin Head Dolly

wooooooooooooooo, what a busy summer.  I've been offline as much as possible, and enjoying every minute of it.  Garden has been awesome, with tomatoes and peppers coming in full throttle at the moment.  We are canning lots of salsa and tomatoes for sauce...

This summer went by tremendously fast!   Hard to believe autumn is on our doorstep.

I love creating these prim feedsack dolls.

I've been so busy preparing for my upcoming shows, and am really excited about my offerings this year.... I really overdid it but I truly think I would be happy working on autumn and halloween items all year long.

I have listed a few auutmn offerings on my website. This prim little dolly can be found on ebay...

Sunday I will be at the Somers Day of Arts and Crafts on Rt 190 in Somers CT, which is a nice little show.  First show of the season and I will have a bit of everything.  It's supposed to be a gorgeous day, as it always seems to be.    I am thankful that Hurricane Earl will give us just a bit of rain on Friday..... Seeing this in our forecast was a bit worrisome.

Sunflower Summer

A few of my favorite things!
